Hi all (lengthy post, sorry)
After a good long run at developing The Breathe Project in Highland Perthshire, I have decided to create a better work/life balance. I have been fairly busy since moving here in 2002 and have thoroughly enjoyed being welcomed into the community and absolutely love living in this area. The people are just fantastic, especially the young people, who have made my job so memorable. We have also had the communities support in all we have done and for that I am eternally grateful and extremely thankful. I now pass the baton on to a fantastic team, (who have mainly come through Breathe as young people) they are motivated and enthusiastic to develop the work even further and will be creative in their approach. I am sure you will rally round them and continue to support the vital work amongst our local children and young people.
For your information, below is my resignation letter that I handed in last week to my employers Aberfeldy Parish Church.
To Aberfeldy Parish Church Trustees.
It is with a mixture of emotion that I write to hand in my resignation with the intention of finishing my role on the 30th Sept 2021. I have been involved in one way or another in youth work since arriving in Aberfeldy in 2002, this was originally through the partnership with the YMCA and the mobile youth project (big red bus to the young people) which led to me becoming an officially paid worker in 2005.
Resigning is a decision I do not take lightly, with the main reason being one of reducing my weekly working hours to have a better life/work balance. I have thoroughly enjoyed being given the opportunity to develop the youth work on behalf of Aberfeldy Parish Church and I am grateful for the trust, freedom and ownership that was allowed, and the grace that was given, as I stumbled my way through developing our youth work.
Working with the management team I will be making recommendations for the future of the childrens & youth work and will ensure I do my upmost to put us in the best possible position for going forward. This is a new and exciting chapter for the team and I will still be very much a part of our church and local community.
Thank you all for your prayers, generosity and support over all these years and I leave in confidence knowing that God is in control and that you will wisely steer the team to be faithful to him and his leading.
